Tiny Dancer & Kayla Robinson

Our Farm

We are a private farm with a very dedicated horse trainer on site.  While the owner specializes in eventing, we teach almost all English riding disciplines.  We love to share our knowledge and our farm with others and look forward to helping many people achieve their riding dreams through our lesson program, or through training for their horse with our trainer.

Our Story

Our owner and trainer Kayla Robinson has been riding and working with horses since she was ten years old. She first got started when her grandparents surprised her that Christmas with the gift of riding lessons. She spent years learning as a working student under a dressage trainer with a focus in classical dressage, but also dabbled in the hunter/jumper ring. One of her all time favorite horses, who eventually became one of her heart horses was a lesson horse at that farm named Bumperelli, affectionately known as Bump. She was an old off the track thoroughbred mare with such a huge heart. Her race name was Dawn O’Slew, and she is part of our farm’s namesake.

Kayla later went on to purchase her first horse who she got for the very low price of FREE (yes, free!) named Tiny Sniper. Not even eight months into owning Sniper we could tell that something just wasn’t quite right and it was determined after quite a bit of trial and error followed by some X-rays that she’d need to be permanently retired from riding. This news was devastating and lead her to consider other options such as buying another horse, where to keep Sniper/what to do with her, and whether or not to just breed Sniper instead. After some careful consideration and additional vet checks it was decided that we’d breed Sniper to a jumper stallion named Coromino who had produced incredible eventing mounts when bred to a thoroughbred mare. Sniper’s filly Tiny Dancer was born on June 25, 2018 and all of Kayla’s riding aspirations had mostly been put on hold.

With the rising cost of board it was clear that we’d need to have our own farm in order to give Sniper the retirement she deserved, so her and her husband Daniel purchased their first farm in Pennsylvania in March of 2020. After a year of preparing the farm, she was finally ready to consider opening up the farm as a business and offering farm tours to the general public. During that year she also purchased two additional horses, one of whom she came to find out would make a lovely lesson horse, so at the same time she began the journey with farm tours she also began to offer riding lessons. The program took off very quickly over the summer of 2021 and the program expanded to have four lesson horses in total.

Of course, with so much success came some growing pains. It was clear in 2023 that we had outgrown our little five acre farm in Pennsylvania, but we were determined to stick it out and make it work by renting the farm next door. That also, would prove not to work out, so at the beginning of 2024 we set out to find our next step. It took months of searching, careful financial planning, and a LOT of stress, but thanks to our incredible clients and the wonderful village of people supporting us, we landed at a beautiful 38 acre farm in Crab Orchard Kentucky. While this farm is not setup for horses at all, we do have a lovely six stall barn that we can clean up and use, as well as plenty of land to make our dream cross country course, and woods to setup some trails to ride. Our end goal, will be to offer a handful of limited boarding opportunities, along with lessons, horse training, and eventually a cross country course for people to school on. But that is a few years down the road. For now, we’re offering coaching and training while we clean up the farm and Kayla works on her ECP certification through the USEA. Be sure to follow us on Facebook or Instagram for regular updates on our progress.
